RA10/lightweight penetrometer
Dynamic penetration equipment is used to determine the layers when testing the foundations for buildings, bridges and roads or any other constructions, to control compactness and embankments as well as to define layers in loose (non-compacted) soils. Moreover information can be gained on physical data of the underground for stability of construction.
Lightweight penetrometer
Before starting penetration the drive point is screwed to the sounding rod on top of which the anvil is fixed. A guiding rod is inserted into the anvil guiding the drop weight until the upper limit stop and then releasing it for free fall. The penetrometer should be driven into the ground uniformly at a speed of approx. 15 - 30 blows per minute.
RA10
For soilmechanical testing of construction sites by means of the lightweight penetrometer driving by hand is replaced by the automatic driving unit RA 10. Operation of the automatic driving unit is simple and easy. A small and handy stand-by unit with petrol engine is feeding the electric motor driving an endless roller chain. The drop weight is lifted by means of fixed chain fingers and released at a constant drop height. Due to the machine drive an even blowing sequence is guaranteed avoiding breaks.
