Push sampler (DKR)
Introduction
The Nordmeyer push sampler DKR is a tool to be installed within the hollow stem auger system (HBS) by means of the catching device to take cores dia. 73 or dia. 100 mm x 1000 mm length in cohesive formations. During rotation of the hollow stem auger the push sampler works similar to the inner tube of a double tube core barrel.
Functioning
The cutting shoe of the sampler remains constantly in front of the hollow stem auger cutter head due to the locked latching device. The undisturbed soil is pushed into the sampler provided with a PVC liner. After having drilled 1 m the complete push sampler incl. latching device is pulled up by the catching device hanging on the cable. After having exchanged the filled-up liner against an empty one the push sampler is inserted again in the hollow stem auger drill string, a new hollow stem auger is added and the next core repeat is drilled.
